It is Tuesday.
Two days nearly down, three more to go until the weekend. Until then though, one of these movies airing on television tonight might just be the cure to the mid-week rut.
A View to a Kill – ITV 4 – 9pm
The last Bond film to star Roger Moore as 007, A View to Kill is not widely regarded as one of the better entries in the franchise.
That said, how bad can a Bond movie also featuring Christopher Walken and Grace Jones really be.
Snatched – Film Four – 9pm
This comedy sees Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer play a mother and daughter who are abducted while on vacation in South America.
Escape from L.A. – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm
Kurt Russell returns as the iconic Snake Plissken in John Carpenter’s fun and underrated sequel to his cult classic sci-fi Escape from New York.
Rupture – Horror Channel – 9pm
Noomi Rapace of Prometheus and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo fame stars as a single mom who tries to break free from a mysterious organisation that has abducted her.
The Last Witch Hunter – Film Four – 10.45pm
Vin Diesel stars as an immortal witch hunter who must stop a plague from ravaging the entire world.
Weirdly enough, Diesel’s character is partly based on a character he created playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Jonah Hex – Turner Classic Movies – 11.10pm
Prior to appearing in Deadpool 2 and the MCU, Josh Brolin starred as the title character in this western superhero film based on a DC Comic.
Centring on a bounty hunter in the 19th century who can talk to the dead, Jonah Hex is not as good as it sounds. That said, it’s almost worth watching for Michael Fassbender’s supporting turn as a bowler hat-wearing, tattooed and psychopathic Irishman.
Rush Hour 2 – ITV 4 – 11.45pm
Carter (Chris Tucker) and Lee (Jackie Chan) head to Hong Kong for a vacation, but become embroiled in a counterfeit money scam in this hit buddy action-comedy sequel.
