Hey, it’s the middle of the week.
That means it’s Wednesday.
It also means we have some movies for you to watch on the box this evening.
Here’s how it looks on Wednesday, 3 November…
Warcraft – Film4 – 6.25pm
Duncan Jones’ World of Warcraft adaptation took a vicious beating from critics but this writer would argue that it’s… honestly not that bad? I’ve seen a lot worse, like.
Red Sparrow – Film4 – 9pm
Jennifer Lawrence swaps out the ballerina stage for a life of espionage in this occasionally horrifically violent and notably adults-only spy drama.
We Own the Night – Turner Classic Movies / TCM – 9pm
Our main choice for you this evening.
Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg play brothers on two very different sides of the law in 1980s New York.
When a violent incident unfolds, a difficult choice must be made and loyalties are severely tested.
James Gray’s thriller is beautifully shot, masterfully acted – Eva Mendes and Robert Duvall stand out in supporting roles – and is both patient and rewarding in its action.
Role Models – ITV4 – 9pm
Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott take a couple of kids under their comedic wing.
Happy Gilmore – ITV4 – 11.10pm
Missed it on Monday? Here you go.
Mad Max – TCM – 11.35pm
Where it all began for Max Rockatansky.
Hitman: Agent 47 – Film4 – 11.45pm
The second stab at adapting the superb video game series.
Sadly, as with the 2007 vintage, this is pretty bad!
My Friend Dahmer – Film4 – 1.45am
Biographical drama based on the formative years of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
