In this remake of Swedish horror Let the Right One In, a bullied young boy (Kodi Smit-McPhee) living in New Mexico in the 1980s befriends a young female vampire (Chloë Grace Moretz) who lives in secrecy with her guardian (Richard Jenkins).
Peppermint – Film4 – 9pm
Jennifer Garner is out for vengeance in this vigilante action thriller from the director of Taken.
Fire with Fire – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm
In this action thriller, Josh Duhamel plays a firefighter forced to confront a neo-Nazi murderer.
Bruce Willis and Rosario Dawson co-star.
Conan the Barbarian – ITV 4 – 10pm
The epic sword and sorcery film that launched Arnold Schwarzenegger as an action star.
The Wild Bunch – Turner Classic Movies – 11pm
This 1969 western from the legendary filmmaker Sam Peckinpah centres on an aging group of outlaws in 1913 looking for one last big score as the “traditional” American West disappears around them.
While The Wild Bunch’s graphic violence shocked audiences upon its original release, the movie is now seen as one of the best Westerns ever made.
Dead Man’s Shoes – Film4 – 11.05pm
In this British psychological thriller from filmmaker Shane Meadows (This is England, The Virtues), a soldier (Paddy Considine) returns to his hometown to get even with the thugs who brutalised his brother years ago.
Though it received mixed reviews upon its release in 2004, our pick for tonight Dead Man’s Shoes has gone on to be considered a cult classic, even being featured in Empire Magazine’s 2008 list of the 500 greatest movies of all time.
Pay the Ghost – Horror Channel – 12.45am
If you are still awake, Nicolas Cage stars in this supernatural horror about a professor frantically searching for his son who was abducted during a Halloween carnival.
