Netflix has quietly added 11 big movies to its library

Stephen Porzio

Because we can never have enough films to watch.

With Storm Eunice on its way to Ireland, a lot of people will probably be spending the next few evenings inside.

Thankfully, Netflix has added 11 big movies to its service on the sly.

Do any of these catch your fancy?

The Bad Education Movie

A big-screen spin-off of the popular British school-set sitcom created by and starring Jack Whitehall.

Battleship

Liam Neeson and Rihanna are among the cast of this sci-fi action flick based on the popular board game (yes, really).

Fistful of Vengeance

Another spin-off, except this time of Netflix’s action-fantasy series Wu Assassins.

Hannibal

Legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott helms this impressively twisted, underrated sequel to Oscar Best Picture winner The Silence of the Lambs.

Anthony Hopkins returns as Hannibal the Cannibal, Julianne Moore replaces Jodie Foster, while an unrecognisable Gary Oldman leaves a big impression as new villain Mason Verger.

Happy Gilmore

Adam Sandler’s golf-themed comedy remains a classic.

The Kill Team

Alexander Skarsgård and Nat Wolff star in this well-reviewed drama about a young American soldier in Afghanistan disturbed by his commanding officer’s behavior.

Kursk

Colin Firth is among the cast of this drama-thriller about the Kursk submarine disaster in 2000.

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

In the first of George Clooney’s collaborations with the Coen Brothers, he plays one of three escaped convicts in the Deep South during the 1930s who search for hidden treasure while a relentless lawman pursues them.

This much-loved crime comedy-drama boasts a great folk music soundtrack.

Pitch Black

The first and best in the Vin Diesel sci-fi action-horror Riddick trilogy.

Sicario

An idealistic FBI agent (Emily Blunt) is enlisted by a government task force (fronted by Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin) to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the US and Mexico.

Thanks to its timely themes, surprising twists and tense-as-hell set pieces, Sicario is one of the best thrillers of the past few years.

Wanderlust

In this comedy, Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd play a Manhattan couple rocked by sudden unemployment who decide to experiment with living on a rural commune where free love rules.
