In this very creepy 2019 horror, a young man tasked with keeping vigil over a deceased member of his former Orthodox Jewish community becomes targeted by a malevolent spirit.
A Time to Kill – BBC One – 11.50pm
Our pick for tonight takes place in Mississippi and follows a young lawyer (Matthew McConaughey) and his legal team (including Sandra Bullock) who defend a black man (Samuel L. Jackson) accused of murdering two white men who raped his 10-year-old daughter.
Based on a novel by John Grisham (The Firm) and directed by Joel Schumacher – who also made The Lost Boys – A Time to Kill is a gripping legal thriller that boasts a number of strong performances, tense courtroom scenes and a great sense of place.
Queen & Slim – RTÉ2 – 12.15am
In this stylish crime drama, a young couple (Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith) go on the run after killing a police officer in self-defense during a traffic stop.
Foxtrot – BBC Two – 12.15am
This acclaimed Israeli drama follows a couple who are informed that their son, an Israel Defense Forces soldier, was killed in action.
Marnie – Sky Arts – 12.15am
One of legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock’s best movies, Marnie stars Sean Connery and Tippi Hedren.
