Here are the movies which will all be available on the big screens around Ireland from Friday, 26 August.

BEAST

What if Jaws… but a lion? That is pretty much the central idea of this new thriller, in which a father (Idris Elba) takes his two teenager daughters on a safari holiday in South Africa, only for them to become the singular target of an aggressive lion.

We chatted to Elba himself about the new scary movie, and you can check out that interview in full right here:

THE INVITATION

A young woman (Nathalie Emmanuel) discovers she has some very distant relatives, and initially she is hugely welcomed into their rich lifestyle. But it doesn’t take long for her to discover there is something hugely sinister going on behind the scenes…

And now on to the stuff you can watch at home this week, starting with…

WELCOME TO WREXHAM

Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny decided to buy a struggling football club. This documentary shows how that came about, and the impact the two new owners had on the club and its supporters.

The first two episodes are available to watch on Disney+ right now, with two more arriving each Wednesday after that. We chatted to Ryan and Rob about the docu-series, and you can check out some of what they had to say right here:

SELLING THE OC

If you love Selling Sunset, then you’ll love this Orange County-set spin-off show, as the Oppenheim Group expand their real estate empire to include some lavish oceanfront listings.

All episodes are available on Netflix right now.

THE REHEARSAL

In this comedy docu-series, Nathan Fielder sets up “rehearsals” for people to act out potentially awkward conversations they need to have in their real life, and then shows the multitude of ways it can go terribly, terribly wrong.

All episodes are available to watch with a NOW Entertainment Membership right now.

SAMARITAN

Sylvester Stallone stars as a down-on-his-luck loner that a young boy believes might actually be an ancient superhero in hiding. Can he be brought out of retirement in time to save the city?

The movie arrives on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, 26 August.

ME TIME

This manic comedy stars Kevin Hart as a by-the-books family man who decides to meet up with an old pal (Mark Wahlberg), who has continued to live his hedonistic life to the fullest.

The movie is available to watch on Netflix from Friday, 26 August.
