Looking for something to do this Thursday night?

May we suggest passing the time with a good movie?

In keeping with that, here are the films airing on telly this evening.

Christine – Sky Sci-Fi – 9pm

Our pick for tonight, this supernatural horror thriller follows the changes in a teenager (Keith Gordon) and the people in his life after he buys a car that seems to have a mind of its own and a jealous, possessive personality.

Tense and stylish, this 1983 film saw the joining together of two horror legends as it is based on a novel by Stephen King (Carrie, The Shining) and is directed by John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing).

If you needed more convincing to check it out, it was also famously parodied in a great Futurama episode.

The Exorcist: The Version You’ve Never Seen – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Sticking with horror, this is a different cut of one of the best movies in the genre ever made.

Rambo III – ITV4 – 9pm

John Rambo sets out on a dangerous journey to Afghanistan to rescue his former commander and best friend, Col. Sam Trautman (Richard Crenna) in this action sequel.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle – Film4 – 9pm

A reboot of the ’90s kids’ favourite featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Revolution – Great! Movies Classic – 9pm

Al Pacino is the lead in this ’80s historical drama playing a New York fur trapper who involuntarily gets pulled into the American Revolution.

Stephen King’s A Good Marriage – Horror Xtra – 9pm

Another Stephen King adaptation, this thriller follows a happily married woman (Joan Allen) who discovers a disturbing secret about her husband (Anthony LaPaglia).

The Apartment – BBC Four – 9.50pm

Regarded as one of the greatest films ever made, the 1960 romantic comedy-drama from director Billy Wilder (Double Indemnity and Sunset Boulevard) follows a Manhattan insurance clerk (Jack Lemmon) who tries to rise in his company by letting its executives use his apartment for trysts.

However, complications and a romance of his own ensue.

Gangster Squad – ITV4 – 11.05pm

In this star-studded crime thriller, a group of cops in ’40s Los Angeles (including Ryan Gosling) are assembled by a sergeant (Josh Brolin) to take down gangster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn).

The Nice Guys – Film4 – 11.20pm

Ryan Gosling stars again, this time in this very fun buddy action comedy as an eccentric private eye who teams up with a tough enforcer (Russell Crowe) to solve a mystery in ’70s LA.

The Holcroft Covenant – Great! Movies Classic – 11.20pm

Michael Caine leads the cast of this ’80s thriller as a man who finds himself part of a mysterious conspiracy to acquire hidden Nazi funds.
