Now You See Me 2 – FilmFour – 6.25pm
The magical heist sequel that we’ll never fully forgive for not calling itself Now You Don’t.
The Mummy Returns – ITV4 – 8pm
Another less-than-great sequel, which felt like a bigger but not better rehash of the first movie. Plus it had that suuuuuper dodgy looking CGI Dwayne Johnson as the Scorpion King.
Old School – Comedy Central – 9pm
Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn and more star in this decent comedy about grown men going back to college to recapture their youth.
Hitman – FilmFour – 9pm
Timothy Olyphant is perfectly cast in this video game adaptation. But that is the only good thing about this movie.
7 Days in Hell – Sky Comedy – 10.40pm
Andy Samberg and Kit Harrington star in this well-reviewed comedy about two tennis pros who have an epic match that goes on for an entire week.
Mission: Impossible III – FilmFour – 10.50pm
With the seventh movie in the series arriving in cinemas this week, go back and watch the one with the epic bridge attack sequence.
County Lines – BBC Two – 11.15pm
We’ve never heard of this 2019 drama, but with a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the story of a teenage boy who gets drafted into selling lethal drugs could definitely be worth a watch.
The World’s End – ITV4 – 11.40pm
The third movie in the Cornetto Trilogy – following Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz – which sees a group of distanced friends come together for a big pub crawl… which may also end with them saving the planet.
Last Action Hero – FilmFour – 1.20am
Our big pick for the night is an action comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and he was so sure it was going to be a hit, he released it the same week as Jurassic Park. From the director of Predator and the writer of Lethal Weapon, it ended up being a financial and critical flop upon release. However, in the 30 years since it debuted in cinemas, Last Action Hero has since been re-evaluated in a hugely positive way, thanks to its forward-thinking meta comedy and a great performance by big Arnie himself.
