Thelma & Louise – BBC Three – 9pm
Ridley Scott’s brilliant road trip movie starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis.
American Gangster – RTÉ2 – 9pm
Ridley Scott again, this time directing Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe in the biopic of one of the most notorious criminals in 1970s New York.
Shaun of the Dead – ITV4 – 9pm
Simon Pegg is back in the spotlight this week thanks to the new Mission Impossible, so you should probably go back and watch the movie that introduced him to most of the film loving world!
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation – FilmFour – 9pm
Speaking of Mission Impossible, the one where Tom ties himself to the outside of the plane is on tonight.
Dumb and Dumber To – Comedy Central – 9pm
An awful, terrible, really-no-good sequel. Both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels deserved better.
Rain Man – BBC Three – 11.05pm
Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman are great in this drama about estranged brothers and the inheritance that has only been given to one of them.
Alien 3 – ITV4 – 11.05pm
We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again. This is far from the worst one of these.

Brooklyn – BBC One – 11.10pm
Saoirse Ronan is phenomenal is this emotional drama about a young Irish woman who leaves her family to start a new life in America.
Happening – FilmFour – 11.40pm
With a score of 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, this intense drama tells the story of a young French woman who has her life turned upside down when she discovers she is pregnant, at a time when abortion was illegal.
Some Voices – FilmFour – 1.35am
One of Daniel Craig’s earlier roles, playing a mentally troubled young man who stops taking his medication when he falls in love with a woman.
The Post – Channel 4 – 1.45am
Our main pick for tonight is The Post, which in most fair conversations, should be talked about alongside other brilliant journalistic movies like All The President’s Men and Spotlight. Starring Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, as the editor and owner of The Washington Post, it tells the story of how they put their careers at risk – as well as the future of the entire newspaper – in making the decision to publish the infamous Pentagon Papers.
It ended up being one of Spielberg’s lowest box office performing movies, and despite being nominated for Best Picture and Best Actress, they all went home empty handed from the Oscars.
Should you miss it on TV tonight, The Post is also available to rent on Rakuten TV, Google Play and the Sky Store.
