Your Monday evening movie menu has arrived.
Prime Video has just added one of the best movies of 2023 so far, but if you’re not feeling that one, here are all of the movies on TV tonight to choose from…
Gods of Egypt – FilmFour – 6.35pm
A truly bonkers blockbuster that was both a commercial and critical flop, but absolutely falls into that So Bad It’s Good category.
Robocop – ITV4 – 9pm
One of the greatest action movies of all time, as a cop is brought back from the edge of death thanks to cutting edge technology.
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice – Sky Showcase – 9pm
The second movie in the now defunct DCEU, a sequel to Man Of Steel, in which Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman sort of hate each other. We interviewed them at the time, and gave them some interesting Batman and Superman aftershaves to test out…
John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum – FilmFour – 9pm
The one with Halle Berry and her awesome attack dogs. The best one in the series to date? Discuss.
Quiz Show – TG4 – 9.30pm
Robert Redford directs an all-star cast (Ralph Fiennes, John Turturro, Mira Sorvino, Martin Scorsese, Hank Azaria), detailing the true-life scandal behind cheating on a televised game show. It scored 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars that year.
Death Wish 3 – ITV4 – 11.05pm
How many death wishes can one guy have??
Pixie – FilmFour – 11.35pm
Olivia Cooke, Colm Meaney, Alec Baldwin, Daryl McCormick, Ben Hardy and Pat Shortt star in this comedy thriller road trip. 76% on Rotten Tomatoes seems a liiiiiiiiitle bit generous. But we did interview Meaney about the movie upon release a few years back.
Ordinary Love – BBC One – 11.55 pm
Our main pick for tonight is Ordinary Love. The movie stars Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville, as a husband and wife who have their lives turned upside down following a cancer diagnosis.
When it was released in cinemas, Ordinary Love scored 93% with critics, with reviews heaping praise upon the gorgeously emotional performances by Neeson and Manville, but unfortunately, the movie was released in early 2020, right as folks were beginning to avoid cinemas due to covid.
Ordinary Love is also available to rent on Apple TV, Google Play and the Sky Store.
