South Africa head coach Pieter de Villiers has delayed the announcement of his team for Saturday’s Tri-Nations clash with New Zealand.

De Villiers is waiting on the fitness of experienced second row duo Bakkies Botha and Danie Rossouw before announcing his side for the tournament opener in Auckland.

The Springboks, who won all three Tri-Nations encounters with the All Blacks last year, are already without scrum-half Fourie du Preez, hooker Bismarck du Plessis and flanker Henrich Brussow through injury.

The team is now scheduled to be announced on Thursday.
