The Simpsons are set to leave Channel 4 after 20 years of filling one of the most iconic weeknight TV slots on British television.
Since 2004, The Simpsons and Channel 4 have gone together like cookies and cream or potholes and English roads, so hearing it’s moving on has provoked nostalgia in some to question the decision.
However, the famous yellow family won’t be moving too far from home with a new destination chosen for the iconic show.
Channel 4 issued a press release confirming that a deal had been struck with Disney to keep the Simpsons on UK TV. The only change is that it will be aired on E4, Channel 4’s sister channel.
The channel will show select seasons of The Simpsons starting with series 32 in January 2025.
The renewal deal will see the new seasons of the show premiere first on Disney+, before being broadcast on E4 and added to Channel 4’s streaming service.
The latest season will first launch exclusively on Disney+ in the UK in spring 2025.
