Some teething problems.
A new survey by GlaxoSmithKline shows that an awful lot of Irish people regularly ‘forget’ or are ‘too tired’ to brush their teeth.
While 96% of the 500 people who took the GSK survey know that poor dental hygiene leads gum disease, 49% admitted to going to bed without brushing their teeth.
This corresponds to 49% of respondents who are embarrassed of their smile. Half of the people embarrassed by their pearly whites are embarrassed because their chompers are neither white nor pearly.
The most shocking fact of all revealed by the survey is that one-in-three people have lost an adult tooth.
In a more amusing revelation, 15% of the 500 surveyed said that they brush their teeth with their finger. We try not to judge – but if you are a finger-brusher, please reconsider your dental hygiene strategy.
