A bloke over in the US defined the phrase ‘the right place at the right time’ after he suffered a heart attack at an emergency physicians convention in Denver, Colorado. Talk about lucky.
If you’re ever going to suffer from a heart attack then there’s no better place to do it than a massive convention centre with nearly 5,000 emergency room staff just a heartbeat away. That’s exactly what happened to one (unnamed) doctor in the US recently.
The bloke in question, along with nearly 5,000 emergency room staff, was attending a convention for the American College of Emergency Physicians in Denver earlier this week.
According to reports, the man collapsed near three doctors who quickly jumped into action. They managed to find a defibrillator and one of the doctors just so happened to have a CPR mask in her bag – now that’s seriously lucky.
Dr Jason Shell, an ER doctor from Kentucky said, “We approached him and he was unresponsive so everybody kind of went into action.
“It’s a lucky place. Almost 5,000 doctors here, so everybody kind of came around and started immediately what needed to happen. (We) started resuscitation (that) lasted about five minutes.”
The man is now recovering well in hospital.
