So it looks like a few reefers may contribute to your risk of getting testicular cancer. You might want to stub out that blunt for this…

Do you enjoy indulging in a bit of wacky tobacky from time to time? Well if so you could be at a higher risk of developing some of the deadliest forms of testicular cancer known to man.

Does that have you all paranoid? It’s probably just the pot talking.

Whether you believe that marijuana is a ‘wonder drug’ that’s capable of curing pretty much everything or not is a different story, but for now it looks like smoking it for recreational purposes might be having a serious affect on your family jewels.

Scientists from the University of Southern California (USC) looked at the history of recreational drug use in 163 young men diagnosed with testicular cancer and compared it with that of 292 healthy men of the same age.

Apparently, the men who used marijuana were actually twice as likely to have subtypes of testicular cancer called non-seminoma and mixed germ cell tumours, reports Irish Health.

Now, the scientists from the University of Southern California have admitted that they don’t know what exactly is in marijuana that causes an increased risk of testicular cancer, but there’s no harm in remembering the findings the next time you’re skinning up a fatty.
