Do you ever get that feeling that you’re not doing something quite right? Well then, you’re not alone…
I’ve been doing this hair loss blog for the past month now and I’m still not sure if I can see the improvement that everyone else says they can. As I was saying in the last entry, my hair does look thicker in certain lights, but somehow I always manage to catch myself looking in the mirror and seeing straight through my hair and down to my scalp. I’m getting the feeling that I’m not doing this right. Maybe it’s just me.
Some mornings I don’t have time to wash my hair with the Bioxsine shampoo, but frankly, I think any bloke would find it hard to wash his hair every single morning. It’s just not in our nature. I tend to just give it a quick spray with the serum (and I write that with a straight face…) and then it’s off to catch a bus.
Doing it in such a rush makes me feel like I’m not doing it right by not giving it time to set, or whatever, and I’m starting to think that I’ll have to be more scrupulous when it comes to applying the shampoo and spray.
It’s a little easier to follow the regime at night though. Before bed I generally have a quick shower – mainly focusing on just the hair – but sometimes I’ll just stick my head in the basin and wash it there. I’m a bit lazy like that. Afterwards, it’s another quick spray with the serum and then bed.
I’ve been looking around on various boards and it seems like it takes a good few months for some people to see results and only a matter of weeks for others. For a while there, I thought I was one of those lucky few that just had to sniff the stuff for their hair to regenerate, but that doesn’t look likely now.
All said, I haven’t given up hope. My hair was fairly bad to begin with, so it’s naturally going to take a bit longer for me compared to some other blokes. I was having a look on the Irish Bioxsine website (aptly named keepyourhairon.ie) and in the FAQ’s it says, “How long will it take for the fine, yellow hairs to turn into regular hair?”
This seemed like a great question to be ask because I’ve a few of those yellowish hairs myself, so I was interested in seeing what the answer was. Then I read this: “It takes up to 2 years for the fine, yellow hair on the scalp to grow longer and darker in colour.”
So maybe expecting an overnight transformation was a bit much.
Ah well, I knew coming into this that it wasn’t going to be an immediate success, so for the time being I’ll just stick with it and try to have the discipline to use the shampoo and serum when I’m supposed to.
Fingers crossed.
