A lesson for anyone even considering artificial methods of bodybuilding.

That’s the transformation that Brazilian bodybuilder Romario Dos Santos Alves underwent after injecting his muscles with synthol oil in an attempt to look more like the Incredible Hulk.
Using synthol oil in an effort to make muscles bigger is a dangerous practise that has been in use since the 1990s and Romario’s tale should serve as a warning as to the potential pitfalls that go with it.
Romario was told at one stage that he would have to have his arms aputated and he became suicidal as his life took a turn for the worse.
He was eventually told that his arms did not need to be amputated after all and while he doesn’t use synthol oil anymore, it is worrying to see that he is still experimenting with various substances in his attempts to become a professional bodybuilder.
Have a listen to him tell his story above, it’s an interesting insight into the dangers of substance abuse in search of a bigger body and an alarm call for anyone thinking of going down a similar road.
