“If you’re able to do something, get out and do something.” How one man is using fitness to fight MS

Conor Heneghan

“I tried sitting down and doing nothing for a couple of years and that didn’t work.”

9,000 people in Ireland are currently living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the nervous system and affects sufferers in a variety of physical and psychological ways.

One of those 9,000 people is Leighton Christopher, who, despite having been diagnosed with MS six years ago, runs Leighton’s Fitness Training in Smithfield in Dublin.

In the video below, Leighton tells us the impact that MS has had on his life, how being active has helped him deal with the effects of the condition and his message to anyone who finds themselves in the same predicament as he did.
