VIDEO: These sunglasses let a young man see the sunset in full colour for the first time

Emotional rollercoaster

Who’s chopping onions?

Being able to see the world in full colour is something that many of us take for granted, but Aaron Williams-Mele was stunned to see so many colours in a Virginia sunset earlier on this week.

Aaron is colour-blind, but his parents bought him a pair of EnChroma Colour glasses for his birthday – special glasses that allow certain colour-blind people to behold colours they’ve never seen before.

Aaron tried out his glasses in exactly the right place, watching the sun set over a beach on America’s east coast.

Aaron’s immediate reaction to trying on his new spectacles was a stunned ‘What the f*ck?’ before he began to well-up at the sudden influx of colour. The five-minute video below is an emotional rollercoaster that will make you appreciate your eyes all the more.

Best moment of the video? ‘The grass is so f*cking bright, it’s f*cking crazy.’
