VIDEO: This Irish woman has a very cool and inspirational way of dealing with cancer

So courageous

Conor Heneghan

That’s one way to kick cancer’s ass.

There’s barely a family in Ireland that hasn’t been affected by cancer at some stage, so must of us have an idea of the impact it can have on those hit with the disease.

Emma Cowley, a student teacher, is one of the unfortunate ones but she has a novel way of dealing with cancer that should prove as an inspiration to all those who have ever been in her shoes.

Naturally an active person, Emma follows each chemotherapy treatment she undergoes by posting a YouTube video of a physical activity she has recently undertaken, finding that it helps her cope in the aftermath of what can be a very tough experience.

Emma has so far made three episodes of a series she calls ‘Against the Grain’ (see the latest one above and the rest on her YouTube channel) and you can also follow her progress on Instagram.

From the looks of things, she’s surrounded by really good people too.

Fair play to you Emma, you’re an inspiration to us all.

Cheers to Adam Douglas for sending this our way. If you have a photo, video or story you think we’d like, send it to us on Twitter, Facebook or editorial@joe.ie.
