The best part is, you don’t even need anyone else to celebrate it with.
You’ll probably miss most of them, but if you pay attention, you’ll find some really obscure events and occasions are marked with their very own day in the calendar.
In some parts of the world, for example, there was a celebration of Middle Name Pride Day on March 6, fans of The Simpsons will be well aware of ‘Go to work with your parents Day’ and we’re hugely excited about the arrival of Hammock Day tomorrow (July 22).
If you weren’t aware of those special occasions, you probably don’t know that ‘Hand Job Day’ is, eh, celebrated, in Japan today, having seemingly just been invented to mark the launch of a new sex toy by Japanese company Tenga.
The company have created a new superhero called ‘Tengaman‘ AKA ‘Jii Senshi,’ the latter of which translates as “Masturbation Warrior”.
The reason July 21 has been chosen is that the Japanese word for masturbation, ‘onanii’ is a pun on the way July 21 (21/7) is pronounced in their native tongue, so people born today have extra special reason to celebrate.
Tenga have relesed an ad to coincide with the official reveal of ‘Tengaman’ and even by the standards of Japanese ad agencies, who have created some weird stuff over the years, it’s mind-boggling stuff.

Exclusive to one country it may be, but we’re sure there are many who will join the Japanese in celebrating the big day today; let’s just hope they do it in private.
