Weight Watchers Diary: Week 5

All is well this week with another pound off the scales. So with that it was time to take in this week’s weight losing tips as my current ones have been fading a bit over the last five weeks.

All is well this week with another pound off the scales. So with that it was time to take in this week’s weight losing tips as my current ones have been fading a bit over the last five weeks.

Starting weight: 15 stone 3 pounds

Current weight: 14 stone 10 pounds

My leader Joanne spoke to me this week about eating food on the road and how the power of advertising can have you half way through a bar of chocolate and a can of coke for €1 before you know it. She advised me to be more mindful and to take a walk around the shop for only one extra minute before putting my hand out to grab something.

Taking a longer look at the deli counter and thinking about what food is best makes such a difference. It also gives me a chance to think about how many ProPoints are in whatever I’m about to buy!

There are lots of healthy options in the deli counter, options like quick and cheap salads that the deli assistant will make up and it will tide you over for a few hours.

Something simple like a chicken Caesar salad can take the edge off and some deli counters can be quite generous with their measures, offering great value for money. It’s something that I’ve never thought of ordering from a deli before!

An interesting idea I came across when trying to stay away from sweets was to brush my teeth as it fools me into not wanting a sweet snack. It may involve brushing your teeth at any given hour or place but now that I come to think of it, my other half Linda has been doing this for years in an effort to stay as white as possible; little did she know show was killing two birds with the one brush!

Easter is going to be tough, but I’m making sure to track my ProPoints and I’ll allow myself a treat. I can make up for it with exercise!
