10 amazing beaches in Ireland to hit this bank holiday weekend

JOE

Why not make the most of the long weekend by visiting one of Ireland’s amazing beaches?

When the weather is like this, your little slice of paradise might be only a short drive away.

So with thanks to the National Lottery, we’ve put together a list of 10 perfect Irish sandy beaches you can lay your towel on this June Bank Holiday weekend.

Dog’s Bay, Co Galway

Just a couple of miles from Roundstone, Co. Galway, on the road to Clifden, there’s a perfect, scenic beach peaking out at anyone who wants to take a look. Gorgeous.

Inchydoney, Co. Cork

Cork people really do go on about how great Cork is, but they may have a point when it comes to Inchydoney.

Keem Bay, Co. Mayo

Mayo is full of amazing beaches, but this might be its most beautiful.

Portmarnock, Co. Dublin

We’ve some lovely beaches on the east side of the country too. Just take a look at Portmarnock.

Silver Strand, Co. Wicklow

Wicklow may be the ‘Garden County,’ but it’s not half bad when it comes to beaches either.

Ballinskelligs Beach, Co Kerry

What’s a list of great beaches, without a mention of The Kingdom? Ballinskelligs Beach is one of the finest beaches in a county full of beautiful scenery.

Culleenamore, Strandhill, Co. Sligo

If you’re lucky, you might even see some of the wonderful seals who hang around these parts.

Lahinch, Co. Clare

If surfing is your thing, then look no further. Lahinch is a paradise if you’re riding the waves.

Garrettstown, Co Cork

Another absolute cracker from the Rebel County.

Magheroarty, Co. Donegal

Don’t worry Donegal, we haven’t forgotten about you! Magheroarty might not be the easiest beach to get to on this list, but it is definitely one of the most beautiful.
