So you’ve made it to 1pm.
You’re absolutely knackered. Your brain feels like you’ve been doing rocket science and your belly feels like an empty canyon.
You’re cranky and you’re hungry and all you want is to make the most of your lunch hour.
Guess what? JOE is here to help.
Think of us as your break-time tutor, your gobble-up guru, your snack-time sage… you probably get the idea.
Here are our seven tips for making the most of your lunch break.
Plan ahead
You’ve only got an hour, so you don’t want to spend the majority of it wondering what you’re going to do with yourself.
Order Online
25 minutes in a ridiculous deli queue. Eh… we don’t think so.
Hop onto JUSTEAT.ie prior to lunch and order your grub.
It cuts out time wastage, stress and that awful small talk you have to make with co-workers while queueing at your local deli.
Go to an event
The National Concert Hall regularly has events, while there is lunch-time theatre most days in the Powerscourt Theatre in Dublin 2.
Enjoy nature
One of the best things about living in this wet, green country is you’re never too far away from a park or a field. Enjoy it, and bring your lunch to the great outdoors.
Try something different
Chicken fillet rolls are great and all, but there’s a lot more to cuisine than a battered piece of chicken stuck in a white roll. Expand your horizons and give a different food a go each day.
Get some exercise
Getting your daily exercise out of the way frees up loads of free time for you to enjoy your evening.
Not only that, it’s also a great time to hit the gym as it’s less crowded than it is later in the day.
Relax
Some days when it’s all just getting too much, the best thing you can do at lunchtime is absolutely nothing.
Giving your brain a rest before jumping back into the working day can be incredibly rewarding.
So there you have it, seven very different ways you can make the absolute most of your lunch hour.
Just make sure you get back on time…
