Will it put an end to anti-social drinking?
Fianna Fail holds its Ard Fheis this weekend and one of the motions up for discussion is the price of drink.
To be more specific, the price of alcohol after midnight, which the party want to increase by 5% in a bid to halt the anti-social drink culture in the country.
If the proposal was put in place by the Government, it means a drink you can get for €5 at 11:59pm will cost you €5.25 after 12:00am.
The reaction to the move has been all pretty much along the lines of this tweet.
Putting a 5pc levy on booze bought after midnight won't stop dangerous drinking , it'll just get more people buying it before #FiannaFail
