Manx2, the airline whose flight was involved in last Thursday’s crash at Cork Airport, has resumed its service between Belfast and Cork.
The Manx2 flight arrived in Belfast from Cork on Saturday morning after Cork Airport resumed flights on Friday night.
The plane used was a Let 410 plane, a 19-seater with two turboprop engines like the Fairchild Metroliner which crashed at Cork Airport.
Manx2 chairman Noel Hynes (pictured above) was among the passengers on the flight but the exact number of people on board is not known.
Cork Airport’s board chairman Gerry Walsh and chief executive Pat Keohane thanked staff for their efforts during the tragedy which left six people dead.
“Your excellent response in very traumatic circumstances has been complimented publicly by many including An Taoiseach and the British ambassador who visited the airport [on Thursday] and we have received many other private expressions of gratitude for which you should be justly proud,” they wrote in an email.
