Earlier on today we brought you a feature on a new, but ultimately fake, product being sold by the lads over at MicksGarage.com and some of you fell for it hook line and sinker.
Our mates over at MicksGarage.com got onto us during the week seeing if we would be interested in playing a little April Fools joke, so, being an office full of lads, naturally we said ‘f*ck yes!’
The product they called “TreadGain” claimed to basically ‘regrow’ your old ass baldy tyres using some fancy chemicals dreamt up by a few German scientists. Well, it’s actually nothing more than a can of cleaning solution and the fancy CSI style graphics they used in the video actually have something to do with hair loss and nothing to do with cars.
According to the lads in MicksGarage.com, they had a bit of trouble recording the original video – check it out here – due to all the laughing and messing around that was going on in the background. In fairness, like ourselves, they’re an office full of lads, so we can see where they’re coming from.
Even Rob, the star of MicksGarage.com’s videos, found it tough to stick to the script. Check out the blooper reel below.
The lads have already been onto us saying that TreadGain was the most searched for term on their website today and that a rake of people have actually tried to buy it, but were sadly met with an April Fools’ message.
So sorry if we got your hopes up… but that was kind of the point.
