Weather warnings have been issued as the Eastern seaboard of the US battles severe snow storms and more than 2,000 flights are grounded.
Here in Ireland the thaw is in full swing as heavy rain moves up across the country from the south west.
No longer is Irish snow disrupting Irish flights.
But now flights into and around the US are being either cancelled or delayed as severe snow storms batter states down as far as South Carolina, with Atlanta, Georgia having its first white Christmas in 120 years.
A state of emergency has been declared in six US States. Parts of New York, New Jersey and Long Island have been badly affected.
As much as 60cm of snowfall is expected to fall in the next few hours in some areas.
More than 2,000 US flights have been grounded. Aer Lingus say they’re planning a full schedule, but there have been delays for Transatlantic flights, with at least one weather-related flight cancellation.
