Tell us Ed, what’s the forecast for Croke Park on 24 July?

You can barely go a minute without hearing Ed Sheeran’s name this weather.

If he’s not hinting at more gigs in Croke Park, he’s appearing on Top Gear, performing an intimate gig in Whelan’s or making a little girl’s dream come true on the Late Late Toy Show.

Ed was co-presenting Nick Grimshaw’s breakfast show on BBC Radio One today – Taylor Swift was a guest – and he channelled his inner Martin King when doing his own version of the weather on Newsbeat.

Ed suggested wearing lip balm and warned listeners about stepping in a puddle, but such is his status at the minute, he could have predicted another ice age and it still would have been well received.

Good effort Ed, but Jean Byrne won’t be giving up the day job just yet.
