Burgers are great. Grilled burgers are better.
When it comes to tasty summer food, Hellmann’s really do know their stuff.
So much so, that they’ve joined forces with YouTube star and grilling king DJ BBQ to help convince non-grillers that food cooked over a fire is the way forward.
After seeing the epic Bon Burger, we’re fairly certain you’ll agree with them too!
For those of you that can’t currently watch the video, here’s the full recipe to set your mouth-a-watering!
Full recipe: Serves 8
Ingredients
- 850g mixed minced meats, made with: 400g chuck, 200g brisket, 200g skirt, 50g bone marrow
- 4 large onions with skin
- 2 beef tomatoes
- 8 burger buns
- 4tbsp Hellmann’s American BBQ Sauce
- 4tbsp Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
Method
- Preheat a BBQ.
- Take your mince, season, divide into 8 servings and shape into burger patties.
- Rest patties in the fridge on a tray.
- Place a couple of onions directly on the coals in your BBQ for 2 hours, turning a couple of times.
- Remove the onions, and rest for 10 minutes.
- Remove all the burnt skin and using a sharp knife roughly slice the cooked onion.
- Grill the burgers with salt and pepper and at the end glaze with Hellmann’s American BBQ sauce, being careful not to burn the glaze.
- Serve in a fresh burger bun with the dirty onions, a slice of tomato or any salad of your choice and top it with a dollop of mayo.
