Despite his most famous style decisions including the wearing of a sarong and a bleach blond mohawk, David Beckham has been voted the best dressed UK male.

The LA Galaxy midfielder beat out a number of stylish contenders, including the Twilight series’ Robert Pattinson to win the poll from retail chain Peacocks.

Surprisingly, Prince William was voted the UK’s worst dressed, with a Peacocks spokesperson stating that “William should be more adventurous.” What’s more adventurous than Will’s garish M Bison-inspired Royal Wedding garb?

In addition to Prince William, his dad Prince Charles also made the worst dressed list, despite being voted the world’s best dressed man by Esquire magazine in 2009. Other fashion victims in the poll included aging babymaker Rod Stewart and the buzz cut-sporting Simon Cowell.

Beckham’s poll-topping style shouldn’t come as a surprise to his legions of fans and admirers, though perhaps Becks should start upping his game within his own household.

GQ magazine raised more than a few eyebrows earlier this year by voting Beckham’s eight-year-old son Romeo as the 26th best dressed ‘man’ in the world, with GQ’s editor lauding the child’s style as ‘experimental and fun’. Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised to see a Beckham ruling the fashion landscape, though we may soon by asking “Which one?”
