There are certain times when people living in Dublin must wish that they’re somewhere else. This isn’t saying that Baile Átha Cliath is without it’s charms, I don’t have enough words to describe just how incredibly proud I am to have grown up surrounded by such culture, history and craic, but there’s no denying that it’s an expensive place to live.
This temporary hatred that’s directed towards the cost of living in the capital is usually exacerbated whenever Dubliners travel abroad and see how cheap the food, drink and rent is in other countries. Yep, we know how you feel.

There’s always worse places for your bank balance though and the Economist Intelligence Unit’s twice-yearly report has identified the most expensive cities to live in. If you’re planning on moving to any of these places in the near future then it’s probably a good idea to start saving some money.
