A gorgeous woman from Cork won the coveted Rose of Tralee title last night, but the title won’t be going back to the Rebel County, as it will be heading to Luxembourg instead.
Last night saw the final day of the Rose of Tralee take place and the crown for the best well rounded and most beautiful woman in the land – well, in the Irish bloodline at least – was snatched up by the gorgeous Nicola McEvoy.
Nicola, a 26-year-old teacher, was actually representing Luxembourg and not her native county of Cork (so don’t go claiming a win there lads!). According to Nicola herself, “I am entering the Rose of Tralee 2012 as I would love to represent a country that has embraced the Irish community so openly.”
Nicola has been living in Luxembourg for well over a year and she is currently working at the European School of Luxembourg.
In case you didn’t watch last night, around 569,000 people tuned in for the show that traditionally tests the girls on their party pieces, which last night included a magic trick, dancing, bag pipe playing, singing and even a gymnastics display by the Boston Rose, apparently.
We say apparently because we didn’t watch it either. Fair play to the Luxembourg Rose though… the Luxembourg Rose.

Definitely would…
