In what we hope is our last news report on this subject, JOE is happy to see that Dublin Airport is fully functioning on Christmas Eve. Not surprisingly it’s very busy.

Snow and ice crews worked overnight to clear over eight inches of snow from approx. 600 acres of airfield in time for the first wave of flight arrivals and departures while temperatures dropped to -10C.  Approximately 120,000 tons of snow was cleared from the airfield overnight.

The Dublin Airport Authority say that the airport is currently fully operational.

While no significant snowfalls are forecasted today, snow and ice crews are on standby should weather conditions deteriorate.

Passengers intending to travel today are advised to contact their airline or airline’s website BEFORE setting out for the airport.

Ryanair and Aer Lingus are advising customers that only passengers with confirmed reservations for travel today can be accommodated on their flights.

Other airports across the country are also fully operational, however there may be delays due to conditions across Europe.
