How many of these have you visited?

Dublin has been listed as the 11th most expensive holiday destination in the world in a survey conducted by airport transfer website Hoppa.

Ireland’s capital city is included alongside glamourous destinations such as Paris, New York, Dubai, Sydney and Cancun in a survey that examined six different travel expenses in order to determine what sort of value for money tourists can expect when they visit.

Hoppa added up the total of the average cost of a taxi (3km journey), hotel room, meal, pint of beer, cup of coffee and bottle of wine to arrive at the daily cost of spending in the various destinations and came to the conclusion that a day in Dublin would cost the guts of €200 (€195.21).

For those interested, here’s how they broke down the six costs mentioned above.

Taxi: €12.85

Hotel: €128.40

Meal: €57.10

Pint of beer: €5.25

Cup of coffee: €2.85

Bottle of wine: €11.50

Dubai finished top of the pile when it came to the most expensive holiday destinations, followed by New York, Botswana, Marrakesh and Sydney with London, Paris and Rome also featuring the top 19.
