Is this the most awkward advertisement for clothes ever? Quite possibly. We don’t know about you, but seeing Eric Cantona’s “serious face” in his new range of adverts for French label The Kooples doesn’t exactly make us want to rush out and spend all our money on the clothes or anything.
The Irish Independent reports that Eric Cantona and his wife have been signed up to front the new sport collection from the slick French clothes label The Kooples.
The former Manchester United striker poses in the pictures with his wife, Rachida Brakni. The Kooples, which is named after the phonetic spelling of the word ‘couples’ in French, always has a dashing couple as the face of its brand.
While Eric Cantona looks scary rather than dashing, his wife softens up the image a little bit. The tagline on the advertisement says: “Eric and Rachida have been a couple for 10 years.” God bless her having to wake up to a face like that every single morning…

So what is Cantona wearing? In the above picture he sports a cotton blazer, a pair of sweat pants, a polo shirt and a pair of trainers. It doesn’t necessarily look designer, but the prices assure you that the brand definitely is.
