Five concept cars that should be mass-produced… right now

Have you ever noticed how concept cars are always much cooler than their mass-produced counterparts? Here are five concept cars that we hope will hit the production line some day.

Have you ever noticed how concept cars are always much cooler than their mass-produced counterparts? Here are five concept cars that we hope will hit the production line some day.

Audi Urban Concept

The Audi Urban Concept is one of the coolest concept cars to have ever come off the drawing board. Its free-standing wheels make it look like a race car from the turn of the century… the last one that is. Its classic free wheel structure along with a sleek modern body make the Audi Urban Concept one car that we’d love to see on the road.

Daihatsu FC Case Concept

The Daihatsu FC Case Concept is basically a house on wheels. It’s the modern day equivalent of a camper van, mainly because it has a 40” TV mounted on the wall.

The FC Case Concept is packed full of cool techy gadgets along with folding seats and a moving side wall so there’s loads of room to play some ‘Twister’ with the missus. Although, we can only see ourselves using the FC Case Concept as a weekend run-about or for scenic trips down the country (for fear of being seen by the lads).

Toyota Fun-Vii

If the Toyota Yaris is a car then the Toyota Fun-Vii is a social networking site designed to keep you in the know when you’re on the go. The car’s exterior has the ability to change what it displays, so it can send out messages to other people on the road… such as a big giant finger if they cut you off (or at least we hope so).

The car also helps you to spot potential dangers on the road such as cars parked in blind spots, giving you more time to mess around with the apps that are downloadable to the car. There’s nothing like a spot of Angry Birds when you’re stopped at lights.

Land Rover DC100 Sport Concept

What could be better than a drop-top Land Rover? Not much really. If there’s one way to roll around in style it’s in a 4X4 with no roof and the Land Rover DC100 is what the company sees their Defender looking like by 2015.

So hopefully, this concept will be made into a production model. The Land Rover DC100 will be fitted with lots of off-road kit so you can expect to see one of these climbing up the side of a mountain in the not to distant future.

Volkswagen Buggy up!

The Volkswagen Buggy up! (pictured at the top of the page)  looks like the ultimate little run-around… if you live near a beach or some sort of adventure sport that is. It might not be the best for taking the kids to school, but throw the kayak on top of the car and forget about making a mess as the Buggy up! was designed for the rough and tumble of the outdoors.

If it was massed produced we can only imagine the barrage of south side teens clogging up Sandycove with the VW Buggy up!
