From the Playboy Mansion to Tidy Towns in Castleblaney. That’s the journey about to be made by the stunning Jenny Dixon, who will soon be appearing on RTE’s Nationwide.
Sadly, the role is only a temporary one for now, but it could develop into a more permanent gig for the biology teacher from Dublin, as long-running host Michael Ryan retired last year.
As well as being renowned for her stunning looks, Dixon is famous for spending her spare time frolicking with other blonde beauties and rubbing shoulders with renowned lothario Hugh Hefner and other celebrities at the Playboy mansion.
Given her background as a biology teacher (at an all-boys school – lucky sods), Dixon was approached by the show – an institution on Irish screens for years – to do a piece about next week’s BT Young Scientist event at the RDS and it seems as if she was bitten by the television bug.
“I filmed for RTE Nationwide last week,” Dixon told the Evening Herald.
“I was covering the run up to the BT Young Scientist event with Mary Kennedy and I loved it. I was delighted to get a call from RTE Nationwide to come on and talk about it, as I am involved heavily in both BT Young Scientist & Technology event as well as Intel’s SciFest competitions.
“I am anxious to have that side of me out there, it’s more respectful and more serious. But, of course, science doesn’t have to be dull, in fact it’s far from it, it’s why I love events like this and the students.
“I love the whole creative side to making such a programme too, having been involved in that side of things I can appreciate how hard they all work in putting together a piece.”
The one man probably most qualified to talk about Dixon’s credentials, former Nationwide host Ryan, certainly has no qualms about Jenny stepping up to the plate, saying: “If she’s good enough for Hefner, she’s good enough for me.
“We’ve always had plenty of lookers presenting Nationwide so it’s not surprising they’ve enlisted another beauty.
“I’m sure she is a very professional presenter who could bring in a new audience.”
No need to tell us Michael, we’re already sold.
