Does your Dad think he’s Jeremy Clarkson. Does your brother think he could be the next Sebastian Vettel? Now you can get them a present so they can see how good they really are?
Every house has at least one. The guy who spends all his time either thinking about cars or talking about cars. They are a special breed and a little tricky to buy for at Christmas. Have you ever tried to wrap a brand new exhaust?
Anyway, thanks to the good people at Mondello, there are a number of gifts that will sort them out and get them out of the house so you don’t have to listen to them talk about split differentials.
First up is the introductory Supercar Experience (€99), where you get three laps of the Mondello track in a Porsche Boxter S and four laps in a training car. It’s a great way to dip your toe into the word of track racing.
If they are not so much of a track person and fancy taking to the fields for their motoring thrill then the Off-Road package (€149) is for them.
Mondello is famous for its international standard track but they also have a two kilometre off-road course and they let you loose on it in their fleet of upgraded Land Rovers.
The Start Line course (€225) is the one our own resident petrolhead, Oisin Collins, had a go at and he hasn’t shut up about it since.

Now if you like the idea of the Supercar Experience but want to do a little more then on the introductory course mentioned earlier, there’s also the Porsche 911 Supercar Experience’s. The most demanding of these courses is Level 3 (€299), where you get to drive ten laps of Mondello Park in a Porsche 911, as well as four laps in a training car to get you up to speed.
The 911 is probably the iconic sports car of the last 30 years so who wouldn’t want to throw one around Mondello’s famous corners.
Finally, if you really want to treat somebody, there is the Chequered Flag course (€385). This is a more advanced course and involves one-to-one tuition with an expert racer and is therefore only open to those who have previous track or Race School experience. If you think you have what it takes to go into motorsport, or just want to experience what the very best in the sport do, then this is the one to go for.
Of course, we say that these are ideal gifts but if you have feel like getting yourself something this Christmas, you can’t really go wrong with any of these either.
