People are paying a huge premium to live near DART and Luas stops.
According to the latest report from Daft.ie, Dublin home-buyers are paying on average €129,000 more for the privilege of living near a light rail service.
House prices for homes near DART lines and Luas lines are also growing at a faster pace when compared to house-price growth in general.
“House prices close to DART stations and Luas stops rose again by an average of 4% in the first quarter of 2019 to an average of €512,000,” the report reads.
“This means that buyers are now paying a premium of €129,000 (34%) for a property close to a DART or Luas stop compared to the average asking price in Dublin, which was €383,000.”
The report also released a breakdown of the most expensive stations to live beside.
