If only we had more snow and chocolate.
It seems that Ireland is a country where the glass is always half-full because we’re the 18th happiest place on earth, according to the UN
Ireland ranks ahead of the UK, Germany and France (probably mainly due to the contributions of this man below) but we’re still a few places behind a host of other European countries.
The third World Happiness Report was recently published and it seems that we’re quite content as a nation but our smiles aren’t as broad as people living in Switzerland.
Here’s a look at the top 10 happiest countries and those countries that seem to be the most ‘down in the dumps’.
So what makes Switzerland so happy? It must be all those wins from Roger Federer, tax breaks and chocolate.
BOD seems to be on the ball though.
The presence of snow is also recurring theme in the 10 happiest countries as Canada, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Finland and New Zealand are all there.
We were shocked to learn that report wasn’t just based on the last few weeks in Irish society, when we actually had some fecking decent weather, but rather garnered by leading experts in the areas of economics, psychology, survey analysis, national statistics, health, public policy and more over the two year period between 2012-14.
Being in the top twenty happiest countries in the world, we’ll drink to that.
