The UK pub group has resolved its row with Heineken International.

The opening of Wetherspoon pubs in Ireland has divided opinion and it’s set to even more as two of the most popular drinks in the country won’t be on the menu.

The UK pub group have come to an agreement with Heineken International to allow the Dutch brewing company’s products be served, but there are a few exceptions.

According to the Irish Times, Beamish and Fosters will be available in the Irish pubs BUT Heineken and Murphy’s won’t be.

Heineken is the most popular lager in the country and Murphy’s is a Cork favourite so a lot of people will be disappointed with the news, especially on top of the fact that Guinness isn’t served there either.

Their expansion into Ireland will eventually see 30 pubs open here with four outlets set to open shortly in Dublin (Swords, Blanchardstown, Camden Street) and Cork city.

Wetherspoon’s move to Ireland has caused some controversy as many see it as a threat to the traditional pub scene here.
