Irish nudists will have plenty of company in three years time when nudists from all over the world will flock to Ireland for the World Naturist Conference 2014.

Letting it all hang out is a growing trend on designated Irish beaches in the past few years and this nudey event will bolster the hobby and is expected to benefit tourism in the country.

Over 1,000 Irish naturists travel overseas for holidays in the nip and here on home soil there is apparently more demand for beaches that allow stripping off.

Pat Gallagher, President of the Naturist Association of Ireland, believes many Irish people only begin to get nudey notions as they get on in life.

“I think people discover later on in life, after they’re married, after they’ve had one or two children, they go abroad on holidays, they find a beach down in the canaries or somewhere,” Pat says.

“They are a bit amused for a day or two, then by the end of the week or the end of the holiday they’re lying on the beach. They’re the nudies on the beach then.”

Pat also thinks the world conference will help not only highlight naturists needs in Ireland but also be good for business.

“It would be a massive event for our association and for tourism in Ireland in general.”
