JOE gets in gear for the gym

JOE

Going to the gym and getting a real work-out in can be difficult. At the very least you need to look the part.

The JOE office represents a good range of gym goers, from the regulars, to the lads who haven’t been inside the gym in an awful long time – we’ll not mention any names to save embarrassment.

The least you can do when going is feel comfortable in what you are wearing as you will, or at least should, be doing a considerable amount of movement.

In the first of a series of articles, JOE ran the rule over two items of combat gym gear from GymGear.ie

Jaco Tenacity top

JACO Tenacity Performance Bamboo V-Neck to give it its full title might be a bit of a mouthful, but it sure is comfortable. We are reliably informed that is because it is made from 60 per cent rayon from bamboo and 40 per cent cotton.

Anything with the word bamboo feels slightly novel, but it is a smooth wear. It contains water-based inks which are environmentally friendly and are designed to soak into the shirt to become part of the cloth itself; making them breathable, durable, and comfortable.

Jaco Resurgence MMA fight pants

You don’t necessarily need to be an MMA fighter of any level to get full value out of these shorts. First and foremeost, chaffing will be a word thankfully confined to history and something to tell the grandkids, and that in itself makes it worthy of a purchase.

For the fighters among you, it is a must-have. The fabric was specifically developed to provide the technical needs that are essential in MMA: durability, exceptional four-way stretch, breathability, moisture wicking and comfort. Just what you want.
