Flashbacks of that AIB advert all those years ago.

Artist, album and year: The Walls, New Dawn Breaking, 2002.

Why is it a classic? : Joe and Steve Wall were always going to find any new band after The Stunning a tough act to follow considering ther incredible back catalogue of albums.

Paradise in the Picturehouse, Once Around The World and Milking the Hits have some great tracks on them but some of The Walls’ output was equally impressive.

Very few Irish tracks are as instantly memorable in their first few notes quite like this one as the pulsing guitar races and races and almost tricks you into thinking that the song is about to take off before slowing down on the 0:25 seconds.

Irish summers don’t usually lend themselves to having anthems written about them but somehow The Walls managers to craft a timeless anthem that has a very definitive place, feel and memory for those who listen to it.

That moment when on 02:40 when the drums kick in and sync so perfectly with the guitars is pure bliss for your earholes.

Did You Know?: The band became quite prominent on the international scene no doubt helped by the fact that this tune featured on the Euro 2004 soundtrack.

The lyrical hook: I won’t let the days melt into a haze, I want to feel my heart I want to be amazed, so I run and I run to the bright and shining sun.
