Already at the top of playlists on many an iPod, Daft Punk’s latest track is set to be THE track of this summer. And it’s brilliant.
Rarely if ever has one song come with as much hype attached as the latest effort from French electronic duo Daft Punk, particularly in the internet era, when leaks about upcoming tracks and albums are so plentiful that it’s hard to get excited about them when they are officially released.
That wasn’t the case this time around, however, but thankfully Daft Punk have lived up to the hype with ‘Get Lucky’ a collaboration with Chic frontman Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams that will more than satisfy the band’s existing fanbase and attract a whole lot of new admirers while it’s at it.
As the title suggests, the song is ostensibly about, well, ‘getting lucky’ but has a distinct summery vibe that will ensure it is as suitable for the beach as it is for the nightclub throughout the summer months.
