The man with the world’s longest fingernails has got them cut

Paul Moore

He’s been growing them for 66 years and they’ve a combined length of 909.6cm. Christ.

All good things must come to an end and while life can be a real head scratcher, the future is looking bright for 82-year-old Shridhar Chillal from Pune, India.

Why?

Well, he can finally scratch his backside like a regular person and go for a walk without having to carry around nails that have a combined length of 909.6cm.

Mr Chillal has been growing his nails since 1952 – he was 14 at the time – and after getting them cut off, they’re going to be on display at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not in New York City.

His individual nails measured as follows: little finger : 179.1 cm , ring finger : 181.6 cm, middle finger : 186.6 cm, index finger : 164.5 cm , thumb : 197.8 cm

Why did he do it? Who the hell knows?

Anyway, here’s hoping that he celebrates by picking his nose. It really is the simple things.

Take a look at those bad boys.
