If you’re planning on getting your motor tax done soon then you better get to it as offices in Smithfield, Ballymun and Clondalkin will be closed to the public next week.

Thanks to the September 30 deadline for non-use declarations on motor vehicles, the three Motor Tax Offices in the capital will be shut to the public from November 11 to November 15.

Dublin City Council confirmed the closure in a statement this morning saying: “This closure is to accommodate the significant backlog of non use declarations, motor tax applications and driving licence applications as a result of legislative changes introduced from 30th September, 2013.

“Please note that from Tuesday, 29th October, 2013, applications for learner permits, driving licences and driver licence renewals can no longer be made through the Motor Tax Offices.

“Dublin City Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause,” it added.

If you’re really stuck you can always pay your motor tax online at www.motortax.ie. For more info check out dublincity.ie.
