When it comes to chilling out with a few mates on a lovely sunny day, few places will beat the Pavilion in Trinity College.

We rarely get a blistering day here in Ireland, but when we do it’s always best to head out to somewhere that has a good bar and lots of outdoor space. One of the best and easiest places to find in Dublin’s city centre for chilling outdoors is the Pavilion sports bar in Trinity College’s grounds.
It overlooks the cricket grounds and has a massive balcony surrounding both sides of the Pavilion, ensuring you’ll get a great spot in the sun no matter what. Best of all, profits from the Pavilion go directly to support sport clubs through DUCAC (Dublin University Central Athletic Club).
While you’re in Trinity you might as well take a stroll around the grounds and soak up all the history that’s sitting right on your doorstep. The college was home to many notable people throughout the years including, Jonathan Swift, Bram Stoker, Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett, just to name a few.
If you’ve got some time left over, you could also check out the famous Book of Kells, which was made by Celtic monks around 800AD. You probably learned all about it in school, so you might as well go and finally see it.
