Ohio man is laid to rest atop his Harley Davidson

Some way to go.

Tony Cuddihy

An Ohio man has been buried with his beloved Harley Davidson after passing away at the age of 82.

Relatives of Billy Standley said he had been planning the send-off for years, and after he succumbed to lung cancer he was embalmed and laid to rest on his 1977 Electra Glide cruiser in a Plexiglass casket.

The father-of-four was laid to rest on Friday.

In order to ensure that Standley stays astride his motorcycle after burial, five embalmers prepared his body with a metal brace and straps, and wearing his favourite black leathers and helmet, while his sons made the casket.

“He’d done right by us all these years, and at least we could see he goes out the way he wanted to,” Standley’s son, Pete, told the Dayton Daily News.
